In painting, I always missed the kind of action that occurs, for example, in analog photography, where the process of developing photos is a creative act based on the factor of surprise and the unknown. I paint in such a way that the image appears on its own, while working directly on the painting surface, and my only task is to highlight a few lines or enhance colors and shapes. This means that the basic condition for a successful work is whether it is a complete surprise to me and contains content that goes beyond illustration and understanding in the symbolic sense and has the hallmarks of a fact that cannot be covered by a simple interpretation.
The irregular format of the images makes me perceive them as fragments from a larger whole, like found, random pieces of a "puzzle". The rectangular format has a limitation that defines it and places it more firmly in the traditional understanding of painting, and breaking it into a non-obvious shape opens up composition and interpretation possibilities. I wanted the images to be read as fragments, snapshots of a reality parallel to the one we know.

W malarstwie brakowało mi zawsze działania takiego z jakim mamy do czynienia np. w wypadku fotografii analogowej, gdzie proces wywoływania zdjęć jest aktem twórczym opartym na czynniku zaskoczenia i niewiadomej. Maluję w taki sposób, żeby obraz pojawił się sam, w trakcie pracy bezpośrednio na podłożu malarskim, a moim jedynym zadaniem było podkreślenie kilku linii, albo wzmocnienie kolorów i kształtów. To sprawia, że podstawowym warunkiem udanego dzieła jest to, czy jest on dla mnie całkowitym zaskoczeniem i zawiera treści, które wykraczają poza ilustrację i rozumienie w sensie symbolicznym i mają znamiona faktu, niedającego się objąć prostą interpretacją.
Nieregularny format obrazów powoduje, że odbieram je jako wycinki z większej całości, jak znalezione, przypadkowe kawałki „układanki”. Prostokątny format ma ograniczenie, które go definiuje i osadza mocniej w tradycyjnym rozumieniu malarstwa, a rozbicie go na nieoczywisty kształt otwiera kompozycję i możliwości interpretacyjne. Chciałem, żeby obrazy odczytywane były jako fragmenty, migawki rzeczywistości paralelnej do tej, którą znamy.
